I would like to also say that we purchased most of your tools and they have been a godsent. My son is able to use most of them which is the main point. We went from winning just one race last year to finishing second in our division and third overall. Now we just need to tweak some more & hopefully do better next year. Thanks for coming up with all of these tools!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to let you know that Jay sent me two new wheels. What customer service. I did not expect it! Anyway just wanted you to know we set a new track record using the 1.9 gram wheels. We held it already with our own wheels at 3.008 seconds on a 40 ft Piantadosi track. With the 1.9 wheels we turned a 2.993 time. We also use your Axle straightener and pro body tool. It makes the work very easy for the boys.
Thank you again for such great service.

The new pro-shaver is a definite must-have. The precision is totally in your hands. This is a truly fine shaver. The updated design doesn't require you to loosen up the frame and re-tighten the frame every time you have to make a blade adjustment. That saves a whole lot of time . Did I mention the new screw action was smooth? There is no binding or straining to adjust the blade depth. The new spring keeps the blade and adjustment screw in perfect harmony. The only major adjustment needed is to initially insert the pro-hub tool for truing the wheel edge and then readjust the pro-hub tool again to shave down the wheel face. The newly updated pro-shaver is a well thought out tool. The accidentally boogered up wheel is a thing of the past due to all the new updates. Many kudos to Derby-Worx on a great product!"

Me and my kids took 1st thru 3rd at our pack this year and my adult car set the track record. I am really happy with your products and I will buy the next new thing you make off of maximum velocity's website. I have no problem with you, heck, you've answered my emails, offered to replace the tool for free, if that isn't customer service I don't know what is. You have a repeat customer here.
Your Pro Wheel Shaver has worked great!!! Out of 20 stock wheels we were able to get 4 under .0005 run out, another 4 just above .0005 and the rest were around the .001 mark. If I can trim down the insides adequately(without a lathe), I may try the best set out at the WIRL races.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays Racer-X and thanks you for making such fine tools. I gave Stephen a Pro Wheel Shaver XT for Christmas. He was very impressed with it's performance during our demo last night.
Congratulations and a big thanks goes out to Buckeye Racing for a GREAT second showing in the WIRL Mod division and for all the info.
Buckeye racing's cars: Passaconaway [2nd.] and Rails [4th.] were both racing on Derby Worx Pro "RS" Wheels.
The wheels on Passaconaway were "out of the bag" from a Derby Worx dealer and the "RS" Wheels on "Rails" had a little extra Buckeye racing MAGIC. It must of worked because even though it finished 4th over all, Rails did post a tying run with the guys from Warp Speed Inc. for second best time of Sept. with a 3.002 sec. run, only bested by Warp Speed inc.'s 3.001 sec.
It just goes to show, there are some great builders out there, we just need to get them involved.
And to those who are not famiular with WIRL, [Derbyworx.com can take you there] take a minute and check out some of the video's of the racing and the car pic's, there are some unbelievablely beautiful cars that are extremely FAST.
I would venture to say: WIRL Racers are the fastest PWD racers in the world. Racer X
Congratulations and a Big thanks goes out to 2fast4u Jewkes Engineering and their entry "Super Sonic" for a 2 nd . Place overall finish in the December WIRL race. "Super Sonic" is on Derby Worx Pro "RS" Wheels and only weighed in at 4.6oz. First place was just a mere .0003 sec. faster over the 6 run average. GREAT WORK GUYS!!! Racer X
I'm impressed... I don't have a lathe... , but tonight I just messed around with a number 14 mold (pretty bad outta round) and trued it up with the Pro Wheel Shaver.
Man what a difference in the way it runs!
I'm all giddy now and can't wait to practice "full up" on another (gonna try a Mold 13 next).
If it turns out (after polishing) like I think it might, whoohoooo!
Can't WAIT to do the other wheels... and gonna make my son do a set too... the best set (check wheel by wheel) goes on his car, the leftovers go on mine.
I think I know where that other .15 seconds has been hiding

Get the Pro Wheel Shaver XT & Pro Hub Tool from Maximum Velocity. I can shave wheels with .001 run-out. Highly recommended!!
Unless cost is a problem (the price of admission to be a Pinehead is buying all the Pro Tools), the Pro Wheel Shaver will do a much better job with much less risk of ruining the wheel. The combination of the run-out in the drill chuck and the mandrel could exceed .005, the Pro Wheel Shaver can do better than .002. And it can be used by the kids (haven't tried that yet, we'll see next month).
The Pro Hub Shaver, works as advertised. Some of the BSA wheel outer hubs have a 'lip' that sticks out on a portion of the wheel. If the wheel is otherwise a good one, the tool cleans up a potential source of wobble. Easy enough for kids to use, too. My boys have not raced the wheels yet, but I suspect the tool provides one of those small improvements that help to control a possible problem area but don't necessarily add speed. In the long run I think it at least pays for itself by salvaging wheels that may have otherwise been tossed aside.
I have found all of the "Pro" Tools to be of very high quality. Gavin Chafin
Away from that, I think the Pro Body Tool is awesome, and probably the most helpful specialty tool to own. Better than my drill press. Rob D.
Just wanted to say you guys have gone above and beyond in your service. Bill has been great and has been a great help. I have no complaints whatsoever and can't believe there are still people out there who try to help so much. May all the blessings of the world fall upon ya'll.
I have used several of the tools you make and have to say thanks. My boys have finished in the top three places for the last 4 years. Two first places this year, one in adult open class (my 5 year old) and one in the cubs (my 7 year old). Thanks again for all youur help
